The Bland Group was founded in Gibraltar in 1810 by Marcus Henry Bland, a Liverpool Merchant. Originally a shipping agency, the company progressed and developed into a steam driven ship owning company. Today, the Bland Group is the main shareholder in Gibraltar Airways, the first new company to be registered in Gibraltar. GB Airways holds the franchise for British Airways and operates its aircraft and crew under the British Airways livery.
