Madrid has been named as the leading Spanish city for meetings and the second international city for meetings on a global scale, according to data produced by the International Congress and Conference Association (ICCA). This is in part due to the fact that it has numberous conference locations, and an infrastructure that can accommodate large numbers.
The two main conference centres are the Palacio Municipal de Congresos and the Juan Carlos I Exhibition Centre. Both are located near the airport and together they offer a total of 100,000 square meters of indoor exhibition space and two ultra-modern auditoriums, each one with seating for 3,400 people.

Located in Campo de las Naciones, close to the Recinto Ferial Juan Carlos I and next to Barajas Airport, this modern Centre boasts: 2 Auditoriums: 2.000 and 950 delegates, 29 rooms from 25 to 360 delegates, Dining area: 3.500 delegates.
The Municipal Congress Centre has the latest technology in the communication and service market.Its open air auditorium in the "Parque Juan Carlos I" has capacity for 10,000 delegates and is ideal for conference openings, "son et lumiere" and water spectacles.
Juan Carlos I Exhibition Centre
The Feria de Madrid Convention Centre has state-of the art facilities and is made up of two convention centres and the Juan Carlos I Exhibition Centre.
The North Conventions Centre ’s spectacular entrance hall gives way to over 10,000 square metres of floor space, distributed over two floors and a total of 20 meeting rooms and two terraces.
The first floor ’s six largest rooms may be joined together to create a great single space for up to 2,150 persons. The remaining 12 rooms benefit from natural light and are capable of accommodating from 60 to 100 persons each. On the second floor, two 300 square metre rooms, each with its own open-air terrace, are perfect spaces for staging special events.
The North Auditorium is formed of two central rooms on the first floor. Fitted with an innovative system of telescopic seat-tiers that open out automatically, the facility is capable of accommodating up to 1,100 persons. It also features an advanced technical ceiling equipped with 80 electrical drivers that cater for the installation of audiovisual, decorative and lighting elements. The fantasic stage has floor space of 216 sq.m.
The South Convention Centre, inaugurated in 1991, has an auditorium capable of accommodating up to 600 delegates and 17 rooms that can hold meetings for up to 200 delegates.
Halls
Beside its own international trade fairs the Juan Carlos I Exhibition Centre serves as a venue also for important fairs organised by private companies and associations. The Centre features 150,000 square metres of exhibition space distributed over 10 halls measuring between 5,400 and 21,600 square metres.
